Spring Hair Styles
SPRING HAIR INSPIRATION
Spring has sprung and so has spring hair fashion. I absolutely love what is in style right now! Romantic floral headbands, loosely kept braids, tousled bed head! It's a lazy girls dream come true...or is it? Now you may think that having a messy bedhead look is easy but thats not always the case. To make it look as if you didn't literally roll out of bed and go to school or work, you will still need to put some effort into it. Here are a couple quick tips...
1. Add texture at the root by spraying hairspray or working mousse at the roots. The hair should be a little dirty to increase hold.
2.Curl 1-inch sections- pin curl loosely so it has time to set.
3.Remove pins and add hairspray
4. Flip your head and run your fingers through once it has dried.
Wanna go without heat?...
1. Wash hair well and condition even better
2. Towel dry hair very well
3.Add a curl enhancing texturing spray
4. Wrap hair in a tight bun
5. Now go to sleep
6. In the morning unwrap, flip hair upside down. Spray hairspray and take a texturizing pomade like Sebastians Micro-Web and lightly apply to get a separated look
Braids are big!
Headband braids, messy braids, fishtail braids, you name it you're sure to see it around a lot this season. To add a little punch to your braided look; add a ribbon of your choice into your weaving and you will have a great little pop of color to add to your outfit! Here are some examples of the romantic looks that can be accomplished with a braid in your hair...
Here's a fun little tutorial I found...
SHORTIES
Short hair is back in business for the spring season in a big way! So many celebrities are saying good bye to their long gorgeous locks and saying hello to short texturized bobs and angled pixie cuts. Here are a few examples of what is on trend right now.
SPRING MAKEUP ...
Spring makeup ranges from dramatic cat eye's to next to nothing pastel eye makeup with punches of bright red, coral and orange lipsticks. The key to this springs' look is minimal face and bold, bright lips!
Men's Styles
Now men's looks are very different from the ladies messy bohemian looks! The styles that are out and about now are very structured and classic. They can easily be messy but the prohibition looks tend to have a very tapered fade with a very strong part that can even be edged up to enhance the look. I can't wait for my clients to look so dapper!
Another structured but classic look is the undercut. Very versatile and on trend. It gives the wearer the ability to change the look day to day. It also is a bit dramatic so it shows off your stylish edge!
Another old school hair style is back I am happy to say... The classic pompadour! This look was popular in the 1950's when Elvis came out rocking it as his signature style. It took a recent photo shoot with Justin Timberlake to bring this look back in full blast for 2014! All these styles require maintenance to keep the look so make sure to see your stylist every couple weeks to give you an edge up to keep you looking fresh.
Come in to the International Institute of Cosmetology in Wethersfield or Plainville to have one our talented students give you this look! Make sure to check out our Pinterest page to get the most up to date styles and beauty trends!
