Congratulations to our Phase 1 Future Stylist Emily Hanson! Emily's essay won her a scholarship from Great Clips last week. In her essay, she shared her ambitions and the goals that motivate her. She was one of just two scholarship recipients in the state, and was awarded her scholarship by Great Clips owners Jack and Gary.

We are excited to share some of our cosmetology students' published hair and makeup work this week! International Institute of Cosmetology students showed off 2017 bridal trends on three of the models featured in the 2017 Stepsave/Observer's Brides Guide and spoke about tips for the big day and the looks featured on models Juliette, Alyssa, and Samantha (photographed by Mike Chaiken). The models were styled in natural-glam makeup and have up-dos featuring braids and modern-classic hair accessories.

In as little as four months, you can be ready to work in the aesthetics field. If you are looking for a part-time, evening program, IIC also offers a six month schedule to fit your lifestyle. Skin care is one of the fastest growing areas in the beauty and spa industry, which makes your opportunities unlimited.
Our three hundred hour aesthetics program is available at IIC's Wethersfield campus. The program focuses on the study of skin care, body care, hair removal, and makeup. You will learn to treat, beautify, and pamper the skin. Facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, makeup application, and intro to microdermabrasion are some of the topics you will study and practice. Learning methods include theory, demonstrations, practical application, and taking on clients to perform the services you will master in the aesthetics program.
