More Than 750 Attend International Institute of Cosmetology Graduation Featuring Tabatha Coffey

On Sunday, October 25, more than 750 students, faculty, alumni, and guests of the International Institute of Cosmetology (IIC) gathered at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville to celebrate the graduation of 100 students. The event featured a sit-down luncheon, fashion shows, awards presentations, and a commencement address delivered by internationally known reality television star Tabatha Coffey.

From her roots as a hairstylist, to her starring role on Bravo’s hit series, Tabatha Takes Over, to her roles as author, entrepreneur, and red carpet correspondent, Tabatha has been widely credited for her ability to help struggling businesses and transform people’s lives. She draws on her own life experiences to offer straightforward advice and the empowering message of inner beauty and strength. Graduates were inspired as she advised them that, “in life, you need to be like bamboo, where it bends but does not break.”

Graduates received their diplomas from Tabatha and then each got a picture with the star. After the ceremony Tabatha spent a half hour with graduates, bringing some to tears because they were so excited to meet their mentor in person.

IIC is well known for providing its students and alumni with professional experiences that aren’t available at other cosmetology schools. The family owned and operated schools regularly bring in stylists from around the world to give hands-on instruction. Some students and graduates compete internationally and all graduates are career-ready as soon as they accept their diplomas.

The International Institute of Cosmetology is an accredited, family owned cosmetology school with campuses in Wethersfield and Plainville Connecticut. It is Connecticut’s exclusive Pivot Point–member school. Started in June 2002 by Carmelo Gugliotti and his sons, Leonardo, Martin, and Damian, its Career Educators Alliance–certified instructors have more than 100 years of professional experience amongst them and work in state-of-the-art facilities offering training in the areas of cosmetology, aesthetics, and nails. The institute’s international focus brings the styles and education methods being used throughout the world to stylists in the Northeast. For more information visit www.studyhair.com.
